Description
This watercolor painting depicts a calm lake bordered by dense green trees, with lily pads scattered across the water’s surface and a distant white boat, in Snagov, Romania. The composition emphasizes tranquility and reflection, using layered washes and varied brushwork to capture both detail and atmosphere. The water is painted with smooth washes of green and blue, reflecting the trees and sky above. Lily pads are suggested with rounded, preserved shapes, their placement creating rhythm and depth across the surface. Subtle highlights and lifted areas suggest sunlight glinting on the ripples. The trees along the shoreline are rendered with layered washes of green, ranging from deep shadows to bright, sunlit tones.
