Where the Green Meets Blue

Where the Green Meets Blue – Original Watercolor Painting

Mood and Inspiration

“Where the Green Meets Blue” original watercolor painting captures the quiet beauty of Plitvice Lakes. Deep turquoise water flows beneath a canopy of trees. Sunlight moves across the surface. As a result, the scene feels fresh, peaceful, and alive. The painting draws inspiration from the meeting point between forest and water. Rich green leaves surround the lake. Meanwhile, bright blue tones create a calm visual centre. The layered branches invite you to look deeper into the landscape. They create a natural frame around the water. In addition, the distant shoreline adds a sense of depth and discovery.

Artistic Details

This original watercolor combines expressive brushwork with careful observation. Dark branches stretch across the upper section of the composition. Their strong shapes contrast with the delicate leaves and glowing sky. The palette includes emerald green, turquoise, deep blue, olive, cream, and warm yellow. These colours suggest sunlight filtering through the woodland canopy. Soft reflections add movement to the lake. Rocky textures and grasses fill the foreground. Small figures appear in the distance near the far shore. This detail gives the scene scale and connects the peaceful landscape with the experience of visiting Plitvice. I balanced strong contrasts with gentle colour transitions. Therefore, the painting feels both vibrant and restful. It recalls a quiet walk beside clear Croatian lakes.
