Description

This watercolor painting depicts a glowing winter forest at sunset, where tall evergreen trees cast long shadows across a snowy landscape. The composition emphasizes the contrast between the warm golden light of the sun and the cool blues and purples of the snow. The foreground shows a wide expanse of snow, painted in layered washes of blue and violet. Long shadows stretch diagonally across the ground, their edges softened into the snow. The untouched white of the paper forms bright highlights, suggesting glimmers of reflected sunlight on the frozen surface. The midground is filled with tall evergreen trees, their branches heavy with snow. The trees are painted in deep blue tones, with warm orange and golden highlights along their edges where the sunlight strikes.
